GadgetAdvisor.com, as it’s name suggests is a blog focused on bringing you news, tips and reviews on almost all things related to the internet, computers and technology. The blog has 4 main categories namely: Gadgets, Tech News, Computer Hardware and Computer Software, which should give you a good idea of what this gadget blog is all about.

Reading through some of GadgetAdvisor’s posts, I must say that I found several useful articles that had real depth and content in them unlike some blogs where you just feel that hardly any effort or research was done to produce posts. The articles were well-written and easily understood, which makes them easy to read. One recent article that I would highly recommend is the ‘Recommended Firefox Extensions’, which contains a very nice list of good Firefox addons and their respective features.

However, as GadgetAdvisor is a very new blog, the amount and scope of content is had right now is quite limited. This is to be expected for any new blog and it will really need to quickly boost it’s content if it wants to attract the crowds. Just to whet your appetite alittle, here are some of the more interesting articles that I found.

* Recommended Firefox Extensions
* AI RoboForm Web Form Filling Software
* Free Firefox Web Directory Form Filler Extension
* Logitech Harmony Advanced Universal Remote Control
* Evaluating Online Backup Services

If these articles peeked your interest, then you might just like to check out Gadgetadvisor.com to see if it can be your new source of technology and gadget information and news. It has a very clean, organised interface, with no spam, thus you are pretty save giving it a shot.

I am not entirely surprised that the $100M option won, but I was hoping that it wouldn’t! I guess many believe that money is what makes the world go round. And if you have money, many other problems can be solved. But my question is, what good is so much money if the world around us is caving in? Perhaps we don’t experience the direct effects of war right now or even global warming, but at the rate chaos is spreading, are we sure we will have the freedom to enjoy all that money?

Perhaps you would like to share what you voted on and why?

Sponsored Review: Thoughts.com

September 23rd, 2008 (Posted by maverick)

Thoughts.com is a community of bloggers that are gathered together for interaction, networking and basically any social purposes. Thoughts.com allow bloggers to know other fellow bloggers and at the same time promote your own blogs. There is a pretty huge directory of blogs where you can submit your blog to be published, although the directory is not categorized. Users can rate each blog they visit, with the Top-100 rated blogs easily viewable by all visitors. Thus, while submitting your blog to their directory may not give you as much attention or traffic, making it into the top-100 blogs will probably be yield much better results.

For new bloggers, you can also sign up for a free blog at http://www.thoughts.com/free-blog. This free service allows you to quickly start your own blog with minimal hassle. The fact that there is already an active community of bloggers hanging around the forum, will also allow new bloggers to easily find information and advice from other bloggers.

As mentioned, there is also an active thoughts.com forum on the site, discussing a wide-range of topics and not just on blogging alone. It is a pretty general forum, which should allow any visitor to find something that they are interested in. Sharing of photos and videos are also part of the culture on thoughts.com including other fun stuff like polls and surveys.

All in all, Thoughts.com appears to be a very nice community to join especially if you are a blogger. However, even if you are not a blogger, you will not feel out of place as the forums discuss a wide variety of things. All the other resources and content available on the site will appear to anybody and so there is no harm checking it out and finding out if thoughts.com is the right community for you.

  • No limit on number of entries.

Here is the final results of our previous poll. Must say that the results were what I was expecting as I probably belong in the category of those who need the internet to breathe. I suspected that many will be too, which is why I tried to put in the worst realistic ordeals I can think of to see how bad our ‘condition’ actually is. But I was quite surprised at the runner-up result, which was not that far behind. Didn’t know so many of you hated to eat the same thing everyday!

Which Will be the Most Torturous Ordeal for You for AN entire month?

  • No internet
    (45%, 45 Votes)
  • Having only bread, water & sliced ham for food
    (26%, 26 Votes)
  • Barred from your favorite hobby/sport/past-time
    (18%, 18 Votes)
  • No hanging out with friends
    (9%, 9 Votes)
  • No usage of cellphone
    (3%, 3 Votes)
