  Actually, this type of tape (painter’s) is used by many track enthusiasts to save their paint. My guess is that the “2850 miles to home” is alluding to a road trip that the owner of the above car is embarking on. Quite a bright idea, in my opinion; in fact I may try this myself!

  I actually read the blog entry these pictures originally belonged to. One guy paid the gas and lodging fees for two friends to fly to one coast (east or west, I can’t remember) and drive his brand new car to the other coast. They put the painters tape on to prevent any rocks or other mishaps from dinging the tape.

  I hope they not covered the turbo with these tapes lol What about the colour change ? is it legal anyway ? Geeks with a lots of free time….

  I love it! My husband and I once used duct tape to tape our canoe to the top of our Audi to go to and from the river. It worked beautifully and didn’t harm the paint at all. Audis and tape work well together.
